Experience – 1-10 Years

• Assisting the dentists at the time of various treatment procedures.

• Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays).

• Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and sterilizing and preparing the instruments and equipment.

• Assisting patients to feel comfortable and relaxed before, during or after oral treatment.

• Following surgery or other oral problems, providing patients with instructions for oral care like taking impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth), placement of a restoration (filling).

• Communicating with suppliers and patients and performing tasks like scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies etc., executing office management tasks that often require the use of a computer.
